Franchise Culture as a Foundation for Success

Leading franchisors share their secrets in Tampa this fall.

For those of you who know me, you know the topic of franchise culture is near and dear to my heart. I present on the topic often, and engage with franchisors often to learn exactly what makes a great company culture.

Pinpointing what makes a great culture isn’t easy – and it’s unique to every brand. But, what I have found is that companies with leaders who place a priority on culture and embody it, are the ones who are most successful.

Culture is certainly important to franchisee satisfaction, but it’s so much more than that: It’s more than a sign on the wall or an annual company outing. It’s creating a mission, vision, and core values that reflect who you are as a brand, where you aspire to be, and how you treat everyone you work with – colleagues, franchisees, customers, vendors. And, more importantly, ensuring that everyone in your organization embraces it and uses it as a guidepost.

Culture NEEDS to be an operational priority – starting with leadership, but really for everyone in your organization. The challenge is knowing where to start.

The IFA is hosting an all-new event called the Operations Seminar in Tampa this year on September 12. I’ll be moderating the event, and I’m pleased to say that the opening session will focus on culture as the foundation for success. Firehouse Subs CEO Don Fox and Carin Stutz, EVP and COO of Red Robin, will share what they put in the secret sauce to create a winning culture and how they incorporate it across their organizations to drive sustained growth.

This one-day event is going to be an incredible learning opportunity, with panel discussions, networking, roundtables, and team exercises – all designed to leave you with practical solutions and knowledge that you can take home and start implementing in your own system. I hope you’ll join me there!

IFA Ops SeminarIFA’s Operations Seminar is focused on the part of franchise success that is often overlooked: operational excellence for sustained growth. You can’t have a successful franchise without sound operations and training programs, or expect to achieve long term growth. Don’t miss out on discussion about culture, franchisee life cycle, unit level economics KPIs and more!
