TWO MEN AND A TRUCK: Thinking Outside the (Moving) Box

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is now the fastest-growing franchised moving company in the country, with a mission of “Moving People Forward®”. In order to expand the company’s more than 300 locations, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK needed a way to differentiate their brand to attract quality candidates and accelerate the sales process.

CHALLENGE: Differentiate the brand, attract quality candidates, accelerate the sales process.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK surveys their franchisees annually with Franchise Business Review and is consistently ranked one of the top overall and service brands in franchisee satisfaction – a key differentiator. They turned to Franchise Business Review to help them leverage their satisfaction data to stand out in a competitive market.

Data + Due Diligence = Win/Win

Using FBR’s recruitment services, they were able to create a Review Profile on the FBR website that enables prospective buyers researching franchise opportunities to read reviews from existing franchisees and access a report detailing their survey results.

Chris Willems, a franchisee who bought his first TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise in Phoenix in 2014 and acquired a second one in the same market last year, says access to that data helped him make the decision to invest in the brand.

It was important for him to not only talk directly to franchisees, but also to gather research from a third-party that could provide unbiased information as part of his due diligence.

“Franchise Business Review plays a significant role in trying to assure people looking for an investment that they can look to them as a source or indicator for what kind of satisfaction they might have if they do things right,” he said. “Franchise Business Review was able to validate feedback I received from both the franchisor and franchisees.”

Cheryl Ackley, franchise development specialist for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, says partnering with FBR has improved their lead generation process, and they value FBR for its ability to match the company with qualified candidates.

“We know when we are getting a Franchise Business Review lead that someone is coming in with a business background, has done their research on the site, and is looking at benchmarks.”

Making our survey data available online helps better inform prospective investors, who then come to TWO MEN AND A TRUCK with a good understanding of the company’s mission and business model, she says. “We know when we’re getting a Franchise Business Review lead that someone is coming in with a business background, has done their research on the site, and is looking at benchmarks.”
