The Franchise Brands You Won’t See On Our Awards List

Celebrating the unseen franchises putting in the work to strengthen their system and build a network of satisfied and engaged franchise partners

At Franchise Business Review, we have had the privilege of working with over 1,200 franchise brands to gather invaluable feedback from their franchisees. While we proudly celebrate the 200 brands that score the highest each year with the Franchisee Satisfaction Awards, we want to recognize the efforts of the brands that don’t make the awards list.

FBR is committed to confidentiality, so we won’t name them, but we can say that these brands are putting in the work. Despite no trophy on the shelf (yet!), here are just some of the ways they demonstrate their commitment to growth, improvement, and franchisee satisfaction and engagement.

  • Asking for feedback. These brands have taken the important first step toward  understanding the franchisee perspective. They survey franchisees and analyze the resulting data to gain insights into what matters most to their franchisees, and align their priorities with the needs and concerns of their network.

What are the biggest drivers of franchisee satisfaction? See the seven key areas that matter to franchisees and how they impact franchise performance.

  • Building strong relationships. For these brands, it’s ALL about the relationship. They make it a priority to ensure that franchisees feel heard and valued. This approach fosters trust and loyalty—the critical elements of a solid foundation for long-term success.
  • Aligning teams. They share the franchisee feedback across teams—operations, marketing, development, and the C-suite— to break down silos and foster a collaborative, unified approach to supporting their franchisees.
  • Committing to continuous improvement. Collecting and acting on franchisee feedback is a key performance indicator for these brands. They show their commitment to continuous improvement by making feedback a cornerstone of their strategy and operations.
  • Creating accountability and focus: By setting goals based on their FBR data, these brands ensure accountability at all levels. They use this data to focus their teams on supporting franchisees and measure success. Some even tie these goals to performance reviews and bonuses.
  • Setting realistic expectations for candidates: These brands use their data to educate and prepare potential franchisees about what it’s like to join their system and run the business, resulting in well-informed candidates who are prepared for what it takes to be a successful franchise owner.

To all the leaders who actively seek feedback, even when they know they won’t make the awards list, we see you. Your dedication to listening, learning, and improving is what sets you apart. Thank you for your commitment to excellence and for continuously striving to create a better experience for your franchisees.

In turn, our commitment to all franchise companies we work with is that we won’t make public that we survey your franchise network unless you are an award-winning brand. Our mission is to help every brand strengthen their relationships with franchisees and improve franchisee satisfaction to build a stronger, more profitable company. So while we can’t give you the list of 200 that you won’t see on our website or in our publications, these brands deserve to be celebrated for their willingness to listen and grow, and Franchise Business Review is honored to be your partner.
